Important Changes to Email Accounts — Adding Authentication

On 8/20/2021, selected Office365 email accounts will be changed to use UCLA’s single sign-on (SSO) method of access.  Please note that this will require you to update configurations on your devices to make this change.    

New Box User Interface Coming July 1, 2021

Box is rolling out a new web user interface (UI) design to all Box users, effective on July 1st, 2021. The new web UI introduces an improved user experience that gives you the power to effortlessly organize, access, and work with your most important content. With the new web experience, a new organization feature called “Collections” will be made available to enable you to create and name private collections of content in your Box account, where you can intuitively organize files and folders that you own or share, and quickly find the content you need.

Cognos Reporting Replacing Query Studio

With the upcoming deprecation of Internet Explorer in August, 2021, Cognos Query Studio is reaching its end-of-life. Fortunately, there's another feature in Cognos that you can use for ad-hoc report building called simply Cognos Reporting.

The "UCPath CDW" folder in Team Content will now have the following sub-folders available (the highlighted folders are new):

UCLA Adobe Creative Cloud Software Now Available for Students

Creative Cloud is now available to full-time UCLA and concurrent UCLA Extension students.

We are excited to announce a campuswide license agreement for Adobe Creative Cloud software. Creative Cloud is now available to full-time UCLA and concurrent UCLA Extension students as part of UCLA’s support for digital scholarship and creativity. Creative Cloud is a collection of more than 20 desktop and mobile apps for photography, design, video, web and more. Some of the most popular apps include Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Lightroom and Premiere Pro.

macOS Big Sur Now Supported by SentinelOne

SentinelOne has released 4.6.10.3673 which is their GA client supporting Big Sur.

macOS Big Sur Not Presently Compatible with SentinelOne/Sophos Endpoint Protection

Apple has removed support for Kernel-Extensions (“kext”), which is a game changer for any application that uses it, including but not limited to security software, VPN clients, etc.Update: March 4, 2021

Sophos – Sophos is presently looking at a mid-February to end of March release for Big Sur compatibility. 

EDWS Scheduled Maintenance on May 17, 2020 from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.

IT Services will be performing maintenance to the Enterprise Data Warehouse Services (EDWS) on Sunday, May 17th.

On May 17, 2020, at 6:00 a.m., IT Services will be performing a code update to the Enterprise Data Warehouse Services (EDWS). The update will reduce downstream sync issues that have been prevalent the last few weeks.

The EDWS service will remain available during the update. We expect the update to be completed within two hours.
