Changing your Default/Primary Device for Multi-Factor Authentication

When you enroll in Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for the first time, the first device you add is automatically set as the default (primary) device used by MFA for UCLA Logon Single Sign On (SSO). If you've added additional devices, you can change your default device by following these instructions:

  1. Login to the MFA enrollment website at https://accounts.iam.ucla.edu/mfa or any other website that requires UCLA SSO. Do not authorize your login attempt yet.
  2. On the MFA prompt select My Settings & Devices.
  3. Authorize your request using one of your registered devices.
  4. Under the Default Device: field select your preferred default device.
  5. Click the Save button.
