Some users may be having issues sending messages out from lists.ucla.edu mailing lists.
5/14, 1:15 p.m. -- Google support has notified us that the “maximum number of external recipients all groups in [lists.ucla.edu] can send to” has been increased and we should no longer be receiving the bounceback message.
If you continue to experience issues sending to an @lists.ucla.edu mailing list, please contact IT Services -- IT Support Center at email@example.com or (310) 267-4357.
5/13, 11:30 a.m. -- Google support has confirmed that our Google Groups instance has been reaching the daily limits for external email recipients. We are in the process of requesting an exception and an increase to those daily limits. We currently do not have an ETA on the approval/implementation process, but will provide an update as soon as that is communicated to us. If you are still experiencing issues sending to an @lists.ucla.edu mailing list, please retry sending after waiting a few minutes.
5/12, 3:46 p.m. -- We are still receiving report of users receiving the bounceback message. We have contacted Google support to provide an update.
5/8, 11:08 a.m. -- Google has provided a window to implement a resolution to this issue. The implementation is scheduled for Monday, May 11, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. PST but could last through May 12, 2020 1:00 p.m. PST. If you are still receiving the below bounceback, please retry sending the message after a couple of minutes. We will provide another update once we are notified that the resolution has been completed.
5/6, 9:30 a.m. -- Users who are attempting to send a message out to an @lists.ucla.edu mailing list may receive the following error message:
"The domain lists.ucla.edu has exceeded its quota for the maximum number of external recipients."
If you receive the above bounceback message when sending a message to an @lists.ucla.edu mailing list, please try re-sending the message. The issue is affecting all @lists.ucla.edu mailing lists. IT Services is aware of the issue and has reported it to Google Groups support as well as escalated it to the Google G Suite for Higher Education regional manager. There is currently no timetable for a solution.
