Office 365 connectivity issues: resolved

The Office 365 connectivity issues have been resolved.

Update, 1:25 p.m. — Microsoft has confirmed through their monitoring and testing that the issue is resolved. Microsoft is performing additional analysis on the affected infrastructure to better understand what caused the degradation and to help prevent similar problems in the future, as well as reviewing their monitoring services to look for ways to reduce detection time and more quickly restore service.

Update, 12:12 p.m. — Microsoft has received reports that some users are experiencing full recovery of service functionality. Microsoft is continuing to monitor telemetry data to confirm that the issue is resolved. Preliminary root cause: A portion of service infrastructure was experiencing issues processing traffic, which resulted in intermittent connectivity problems.

We’re getting reports that some Office365 users may be experiencing intermittent issues connecting, and/or delays sending and receiving email. Microsoft has determined that a portion of their service infrastructure was experiencing issues processing traffic. Microsoft rerouted traffic to an alternate infrastructure and service availability is recovering. Microsoft will continue to closely monitor the service.

We will update when we know more. If you’re one of the affected users, or would like more details, please contact us at (310) 825-8000 or help@it.ucla.edu.
