Dear Colleagues:
I’d like to share the IT Executive Dashboard and a few notable highlights with you.
- October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, highlighting the importance of digital security. We encourage you to help reinforce this message as we work together to secure UCLA. Starting Monday, October 2, visit the Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2023 website and the #secureUCLA Slack channel, where you can find the latest cyber awareness news.
- The Ascend 2.0 Program is scheduled to launch BruinBuy Plus, UCLA's new procure-to-pay system, on January 2, 2024. BruinBuy Plus aims to modernize and streamline our procurement processes and support ongoing Accounts Payable (AP) efforts for faster payments and reduced payment uncertainty. Awareness efforts are underway with change leader meetings, quarterly town halls, roadshows, and office hours. End-user training will start at the end of October.
- The FACET program is in the process of upgrading our mainframe system for the 2024-2025 academic year to align with the new FAFSA format. The team will soon issue a BruinPost detailing our transition to Oracle’s Student Financial Planning (SFP) platform for the 2025–2026 academic year. SFP offers improved functionality, regulatory compliance, faster processing, and user-friendly experiences for students and staff.
- A formal announcement went out to campus introducing the HR IT Systems Optimization (HRITSO) program, which strives to modernize vital HR systems, streamline processes, and improve the overall experience for the campus community. HRITSO includes the implementation of three new systems – ServiceNow HRSD in November 2023 and JDXpert and iCIMS in February/March 2024 – replacing PeopleAdmin by June 2024.
Your partnership is key to creating an exceptional experience for UCLA, and I appreciate your continued support.
Best regards,
