UCLA IT Services will be performing maintenance to the Campus VPN servers on Friday, July 31, 2020 from 12:01 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.
UCLA IT Services — Network Services will be performing maintenance to the Campus VPN servers on Friday, July 31, 2020 from 12:01 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. The AnyConnect software on the Campus VPN servers will be upgraded to version 4.9.00086 for macOS clients. Campus VPN service is not expected to be interrupted during the maintenance window.
After the maintenance period, any Cisco AnyConnect clients on macOS and OS X will update automatically the next time they connect to the Campus VPN. However, AnyConnect version 4.9.00086 is only compatible on macOS versions 10.13 and newer, and AnyConnect 4.9.00086 will cease to function on macOS 10.12 and older OS X operating systems (even though the update will succeed).
In order to continue to use the UCLA Campus VPN after July 31, 2020, users must do one of the following:
• Update your version of macOS to version 10.13 or higher
• Configure the built-in macOS VPN Client to connect via Cisco IPSec
• Configure the built-in macOS VPN Client to connect via the L2TP protocol
The IT Support Center will be sending targeted notices to users who have recently connected to the UCLA Campus VPN using Cisco AnyConnect from one of the older operating systems. We recommend that they complete one of the above options before July 31, 2020 to ensure uninterrupted access to the Campus VPN.
If you have any questions or experience any difficulties outside of the maintenance window, please contact IT Services at (310) 267-HELP (4357), or email help@it.ucla.edu.
