CIO Message | April 2023

Dear Colleagues:

As we move through the winter quarter, I’d like to share the IT Executive Dashboard and a few notable highlights with you.

  • The Ascend 2.0 program began testing and integration work on Jaggaer — a tool that helps automate and streamline the procurement process — as well as system integration development between Oracle Financials Cloud and UCLA boundary systems. Register for the upcoming Ascend 2.0 Town Hall on May 8 to hear from leadership about program milestones, activities and opportunities to get involved.
  • The FACET program completed Phase I: Assessment and Planning activities with system implementation partner, Sierra-Cedar. The go-live recommendation is currently under review with our Executive IT Governance Board for approval.
  • The HR IT Systems Optimization program — which includes the implementation of HR Service Delivery, JDXpert, and iCIMS and the decommission of PeopleAdmin — completed a re-baseline exercise to develop an updated approach and timeline, which is currently under review with CHR and ITS leadership for approval.
  • The Customer Experience (CX) program launched a multi-tiered CX Assessment — including a campus-wide survey and series of focus groups — to identify where customers may be experiencing challenges and where we have opportunities for improvement.
  • Our campus transition to Zoom Phone, known as Bruin Voice, has activated 3,000 lines to date and will complete another 6,600 by the end of June. The remaining 5,800 lines will be transitioned in waves as a follow-up.

As part of our ongoing effort to keep an active dialog with each initiative, we’ve created a POPin survey for each of our active projects on our Key Initiatives page. We are continuing to refine our processes and truly value the feedback you provide.

Thank you,
