Dear Colleagues:
As the year concludes, I’d like to share the IT Executive Dashboard along with several significant highlights. Throughout the year, we’ve made notable progress in our principal projects, IT enabled efforts that are in line with our campus’s strategic goals. These initiatives have been substantially bolstered through partnerships with visionary functional leaders such as Lubee Levin (HR IT Systems Optimization), Allison Baird-James (Ascend 2.0), Gary Clark (FACET) and their teams. These collaborations have played a key role in significantly enhancing the efficiency of our campus operations. I’d also like to acknowledge our strategic and advisory governance committee members for their invaluable guidance and support. Our recent accomplishments include:
- HR IT Systems Optimization team went live on December 7 with Bruin CHR Service Center, which replaces the PeopleAdmin compensation and salary action requests and HR & Payroll Operations Center (HRPOC) Ticketing System.
- Bruin Voice completed the Zoom softphone deployment of 5,884 lines and 60 phone trees and will shift attention to the implementation of Zoom physical phones in the new year.
- Ascend 2.0 began the cutover from our current procurement system to Bruin Buy Plus on December 14. The team is heavily focused on end-user training and support to ensure a smooth transition to the new system on January 3.
- FACET began ramping up for the January 2024 go-live of the Financial Aid Management (FAM) mainframe updates to accommodate Department of Education guidelines. Concurrently, the Oracle Student Financial Planning (SFP) implementation is on track to meet December 22 development targets.
- Google Workspace Service Adjustment team sent a BruinPost announcing the new containment ceilings in effect December 15 and is forming an advisory committee to explore a holistic approach that addresses research data storage needs.
I want to express my gratitude for your continued support of our ongoing initiatives this past year. The progress made across our project portfolio is a testament to the collective dedication and collaboration of our teams, and I am confident that, together, we will achieve even greater milestones in the new year.
Best regards,
