VPN Outage - Dec 6, 2020

The campus VPN is experiencing an outage; we're working to resolve the issue.

Update, 1:54 p.m. — We've implemented a temporary workaround to the issue with EDWS authentication, and have brought the VPN service back online. We're continuing to investigate the root cause, and determining a more permanent solution. If you continue to experience issues with the service, please contact the IT Support Center at (310) 267-4357 or help@it.ucla.edu.

Update, 1:30 p.m. — VPN services are coming back up.  Authentications may be spotty as we recover all of the different backend servers.  At the moment we have a single server in place.  We're recovering a second backend authorization server now.

Update, 1:03 p.m. — The team's still working on resolving the VPN outage. We're continuing to work on bringing the enterprise data warehouse systems back online. We'll continue to post our progress.

We're aware that the campus VPN is down; the outage was caused by maintenance earlier this morning to the Cisco UCS firmware. Once the EDWS (Enterprise Data Warehouse Systems) are back online, VPN service should be restored. We're actively working on resolving the issue, and will update when we have more information.
