Information Technology Services is now offering the SSL VPN service. SSL VPN provides a number of advantages:
- High security (using trusted SSL encryption) and reliability;
- Compatibility with most networks; and
- IPv6 tunneling and connectivity, even on IPv4 networks.
While browser-based SSL VPNs do exist, the SSL VPN service requires the Cisco AnyConnect SSL VPN client. The client is simple to install and configure, and is available for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux the Bruin OnLine website, as well as the App Store for iOS devices, Google Play for Android devices, and Nokia store for Symbian devices.
Please note that Windows users who currently have the previous Cisco VPN Client will need to uninstall it or update their MTU setting prior to installing the AnyConnect client.
