Dear Colleagues:
I would like to share the latest update on our IT initiatives through the IT Executive Dashboard, with highlights provided below.
- The Ascend 2.0 team established a task force focused on paying all outstanding invoices in BruinBuy Plus, as well as driving improvements in procure-to-pay processes and systems to address the ongoing challenges the campus community is experiencing.
- FACET achieved remarkable progress in readiness for the 2024-2025 financial aid cycle, issuing 5,500 Provisional Aid Letters to support prospective students. The team also commenced System Integration Testing (SIT) for the new Student Financial Planning (SFP) system in collaboration with partners across campus.
- The Security Transformation team continued to work with units to ensure the full deployment of Trellix, UCLA’s endpoint protection security platform, by May 30. Furthermore, efforts are underway to mobilize the Unit Information Security Leads (UISL) operating model, enhance Incident Response capabilities and improve Asset & Data visibility.
- The HR IT Systems Optimization (HRITSO) program achieved a significant milestone with the implementation of JDXpert and iCIMS, the new position description and applicant tracking systems, on April 12. The team has successfully moved into sustainment, with additional phases of work undergoing planning and discussion.
- Registration for the annual BruinTech Spring Conference is now open. The conference runs from May 21-23 and consists of two days of remote sessions, followed by an in-person workshop and expert speakers on the last day. Seats can be reserved for in-person attendance on May 23, 2024. Space is limited.
I look forward to updating you more on our progress next month.
