HCE Firewall Upgrade on May 7, 6:00 p.m.- May 8, 6:00 a.m.

All HCE customers will be impacted as an outage will occur as we switch over.

The HCE Firewalls wll be upgraded on Friday, May 7, starting at 6:00 p.m. though Saturday, May 8, at 6:00 a.m. All HCE customers will be impacted as an outage will occur as we switch over from the old 3020 Palo Alto Firewalls to the new 3220 firewalls.

Update Your Zoom App Before Saturday October 10th

The Zoom app must be upgraded to 5.3.0 or greater before Sat Oct 10

To the Campus Community:

The Zoom app (desktop and mobile) must be updated to 5.3.0 or greater before Saturday October 10th. To address needs of instructors and others in the campus community, we are working with Zoom to increase breakout room capacity for Fall Quarter.  IT Services will be making a change to UCLA Zoom in the early morning of Saturday October 10th.

WebAuthn Support for UCLA Logon Multi-Factor Authentication

IT Services will enable WebAuthn support for UCLA Logon Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on Monday, July 6.

On Monday, July 6, 2020, IT Services will enable WebAuthn support for UCLA Logon Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). This update will enable you to use security keys on additional supported browsers as well as Touch ID on supported Macs for Duo authentication.

Virtual Camera Support in Zoom for macOS

Zoom had disabled virtual camera support for Zoom in an earlier release on macOS.

Zoom had disabled virtual camera support for Zoom in an earlier release on macOS. They have recently reenabled support, but only on a limited/whitelisted basis for a few virtual cameras. Included below is permitted software on their whitelist as well as virtual cameras that have been denied.

Scheduled Upgrade: Confluence - May 28, 2020, 9 p.m.

On May 28, 2020 at 9 p.m., IT Services will be upgrading UCLA Spaces (Confluence) from version 6.15.8 to 7.3.5.

Update, May 26 — This upgrade has been rescheduled for May 28, 2020 at 9 p.m.

Update: May 15, 3:26 p.m. — The Confluence upgrade scheduled for May 15, 2020 at 9 p.m., is being postponed for further testing. Another notification will be sent when a new date for the upgrade has been set.
