UCLA IT Services (ITS) recently completed a monumental 15-month project designed to make the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health’s IT services better, safer and more efficient.
Updates
I would like to share the latest update on our IT initiatives through the IT Executive Dashboard, with highlights provided below.
On Monday, November 28, at 8 p.m., the Network Engineering team will be updating the radius.auth.ucla.edu SSL certificate used for the eduroam wireless network as part of following security best practices. No downtime is anticipated, but users may be prompted to trust a new certificate.
This is the final reminder about the changes coming to the look and feel of the Duo Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) prompt when logging in to services with UCLA Single Sign-On (SSO).
UCLA utilizes Duo Security as our vendor for MFA integration, and the company has announced an updated version of the MFA prompt named “Universal Prompt.” To address a critical security vulnerability, UCLA needs to convert to Universal Prompt on Tuesday, May 24, 2022.
The HCE Firewalls wll be upgraded on Friday, May 7, starting at 6:00 p.m. though Saturday, May 8, at 6:00 a.m. All HCE customers will be impacted as an outage will occur as we switch over from the old 3020 Palo Alto Firewalls to the new 3220 firewalls.
