IAMUCLA Support and the IT Services (ITS) teams will perform a Disaster Recovery (DR) exercise of the UCLA Single Sign-On (SSO) service on Sunday, 3/24/2024 from 1-2 a.m. PT. This is to ensure that critical applications will function as expected during an outage.

DESCRIPTION: UCLA IT Services — Network Services will be upgrading the code on the campus core routers on Sunday, March 3, 0500-1400. No network interruption is expected during the maintenance as core routers will be upgraded one at a time, and the network traffic will be routed to redundant paths.
Network Services will be performing maintenance on Managed Network Service (MNS) Distribution router on Sunday, March 12, from 6:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m.
UCLA IT Services — Network Services will be replacing the Campus Backbone distribution router at Anderson with a new hardware on Sunday, March 5, 0600-1800. Departments are not expected to experience a network outage as the primary distribution router at CSB1 will be intact and will provide connectivity.
Network Services will be replacing the Campus Backbone distribution router at CSB1 with a new hardware on Sunday, January 29, 0600-1800. Departments with a single BGP connection only to the CSB1 distribution router will experience an outage.
As part of the ongoing VMware Virtual Cloud Datacenter (VCDR) project, all VMs will be replicated over to VCDR starting on May 17.

ITS would like to make you aware of a planned voice router replacement scheduled for Sunday, March 6, 2022, from 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. The voice router's current hardware and software within one of ITS' primary service locations must be replaced before it reaches End of Service (EoS)/End of Life (EoL), in order to continue to provide reliable voice services.
The Systems Programming team will be upgrading the Mainframe's Operating System from z/OS 2.3 to z/OS 2.4. Implementation is set for 02/06/2022 from 2:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
UCLA IT Services — Network Services will be performing maintenance to Campus Backbone border router on Sunday, February 6, 6:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. The Anderson border router will be replaced with a new hardware and the network traffic will be routed back from the redundant router at CSB1 to the primary router at Anderson. No network interruption is expected during the maintenance window as the network traffic will be using redundant paths.
ITS would like to make you aware of a planned voice router replacement scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 23 2022, from 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. The voice router's current hardware and software within one of ITS' primary service locations must be replaced before it reaches End of Service (EoS)/End of Life (EoL), in order to continue to provide reliable voice services. All voice traffic will be routed to the redundant voice router during the maintenance, so VoIP service should continue as usual.
UCLA IT Services — Network Services will be performing maintenance to Campus Backbone border router on Sunday, January 23, 0600-1400. The network traffic will be routed out of Anderson border router to the redundant border router at CSB1 location. This is a preparation for the hardware replacement of the Anderson border router that will take place the following Sunday. No network interruption is expected during the maintenance as the network traffic will be routed to redundant paths.
On Nov. 4 at 6 p.m., IT Services will be upgrading UCLA Spaces (Confluence) from version 7.4.11 to 7.4.13.
UCLA IT Services — Network Services will be performing maintenance to Campus DNS / DHCP Infoblox Grid servers on Sunday, October 17, 6:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. The campus Infoblox servers will be upgraded from version 8.4.8 to 8.5.3. No DNS / DHCP service interruptions are expected as the redundant servers will be upgraded one at a time.
The IT Services Infrastructure Support Team will be implementing an UCS firmware upgrade on May 15, 2021, from 1:00 a.m. to 5:59 a.m. There should be no impact to the availability of all services.
