On Saturday, Dec. 19, from 1:00 a.m. to 6:59 a.m., the Network Services team will begin a phased approach to replacing a core router chassis at Anderson. This maintenance is essential, as we are currently running at reduced capacity and a complete failure could result in extended campus network outage.

On Thursday, December 3rd, from 12:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m., UCLA IT Services — Network Services will be helping the UCLA provider company CENIC perform emergency maintenance to replace a failed line card on one of the CENIC devices on campus.
UCLA IT Services -- Network Services will be upgrading the IOS on two service routers at CSB1 on Monday, Dec. 21 2020 from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. The IOS is being upgraded and configured to support the ssh protocol. ITS Voice Services, Security, and Systems Operations utilize both service routers at CSB1. These systems and services have redundancy, so no outages are anticipated during the maintenance window, with the exception of the FireEye appliance.
As you may (or may not!) have heard, UCLA is piloting CA COVID Notify, a new exposure notification system from Google and Apple that can quickly notify you if you have likely been exposed to COVID-19 so you seek medical attention sooner and reduce risk of exposing your friends, family and the Bruin community.
UCLA IT Services -- Network Services will be performing maintenance to the Campus VPN servers on Monday, November 9, 2020 from 12:01 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. The AnyConnect software on the Campus VPN servers will be upgraded to version 4.9.03049 (Windows) or 4.9.03047 (Linux/Mac) and all clients will automatically auto-update after connecting. Campus VPN service is not expected to be interrupted during the maintenance window.
Network Services will be migrating a Data Center storage and virtualization network to a new infrastructure on Sunday, November 1, 2020 from 4:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. This will impact all servers that are configured to use Isilon storage. Services on these hosts will be intermittently available during the migration.

UCLA IT Services — Network Services will be performing maintenance to Campus Backbone border routers on Saturday, October 10th, 2020, from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Campus border routers' code will be upgraded and BGP connections to Internet2 will be configured. No network interruption is expected during the maintenance window as traffic will be routed away from each connection prior to changes.
On Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at 9:00 p.m., Zoom will be completing a rollback to a software update that was incorrectly applied earlier today. Meetings/webinars that are in progress may end and need to be restarted.
On Thursday, September 24, 2020, from 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 a.m., DGIT’s Network Services team will be migrating the existing wireless network in the School of Dentistry building to DGIT’s services. This migration will result in improved wireless performance and seamless coverage throughout the Dentistry building and the Center for Health Sciences.
Network Services will be migrating Vlan79 (128.97.98.128/26 network) configured on the Data Center environment to the new Infrastructure on September 30th, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. This will impact UCOP switches, as well as ITS LDAP servers that reside on this network. Services on these hosts will be intermittently available during the migration.
On Monday, September 21st, two configuration changes will be made for the UCLA Zoom instance.

IT Services -- Network Services will be performing a software code upgrade on the Datacenter nexus switches on Sunday, September 27, 2020 from 12:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. The upgrade is required to fix a software vulnerability. We'll be upgrading the code on one DCN device at a time, and no outage is expected for the dual-attached hosts as traffic will be re-routed through redundant devices. There's a potential brief connection disruption while the traffic is being re-routed.
